Not All Professional Contractors Are Created Equal.

Caveat Emptor! Let the customer beware! Not all professional contractors are created equal. Occasionally, we encounter noticeably sub-par workmanship that our exacting standards will not allow us to ignore. In order to remediate these glaring deficiencies – that will become even more visible once finish topcoats have been applied – The Paint Guys invest a significant amount of time and effort in essential surface preparation. What constitutes this professional attention to detail ?

  • All trim gaps are caulked where necessary.
  • Surfaces not to be painted are always protected during cleaning, repair and painting operations.
  • All dust, dirt, grease, loose paint, etc., will be removed.
  • Any cracks, holes and other imperfections in surface will be cleaned, repaired and primed, where required.
  • The surface of any intact existing coating that is to be left on the surface will be roughened so as to provide an acceptable bond for the new coating.
  • When repairing areas of failed coating, the edges of the intact existing coating will be beveled so as to minimize the visual impact of the previous failure.
  • Previously painted surfaces that may have any oil or grease residue will be washed and rinsed.
  • All sanding dust will be removed.
  • All loose paint will be removed.
  • All surface preparation debris will be removed from the work site and disposed of in conformance with the Client’s instructions or applicable environmental regulations – whichever is the higher standard.
